The talks are all about 20 minutes long and span from the psychological reasons we do what we do - to a man describing his methods for squaring 2, 3, 4, and even 5 digit numbers in his head! I'm attaching one of the better inspirational talks below, but check out the site for yourself.

TED
TED (Technology Entertainment, Design) is a yearly conference, featuring incredible and inspiring talks. I was recently turned onto the website, www.ted.com, in a podcast, and I have to say I am hooked! Their tag line reads, "Ideas worth spreading," they are.

is this aloud?
My iPhone never did show up from AT&T. I ended up driving to Portland and standing in a line for about an hour to pick one up from a local Apple store. It is all that I hoped it would be and I am in fact writing this very post from it. I must admit that the ability to blog from my phone is quite intriguing and as it stands, blogger does not have an iPhone app, however WordPress does. I am currently tempted - but not entirely set on - switching over to WordPress for this reason. Come on blogger, give me an app!
Speaking of apps, I'll give a quick run down on those that I am absolutely addicted to. And I'll try to stray from the larger 'everyone knows and has' apps (AIM, Facebook, etc.)
CubeRunner - It's free and amazing. Though graphically it leaves something to be desired, it far surpasses any pay-game I've seen in sheer fun.
Box Office - Hands down, best movie app. Gives reviews, show times at your local theater, and allows you to purchase tickets from fandango.
Trism - Bejeweled, but gravity aware! Yes, it's $5, just get it and love it.
Yelp - Searches for, well, anything near you using your current location - then gives user submitted reviews and other information. Looking for a Sushi bar within 5 blocks, and want to know if they have good Sashimi? Yelp has your answer.

iphone envy and photos
In the last week (ok, past few days, but it feels like a week) I've experienced substantially less than success in retrieving the oh so coveted 'Jesus phone'. Being out of state for the day of release, I naturally placed an order at my local AT&T store - I was told 7 days or less. The following day I received a confirmation email, stamped in the item name were the letters "WHT". Of course I had not ordered a white iPhone and spoke with an AT&T representative who assured me all was dealt with by the end of the call. The next morning I receive a shipment confirmation, again "WHT", which I had no reponse but WTF. By this point my current iPhone had sold as well.
After several more conversations with the manager of the store it looks like my order is finally correct but at the expense of several precious days without my iPhone. Worst case scenario I will receive the new phone sometime next week. Until then, I will be using a freebee Samsung, so sorry all for poor call quality in the next week.
On a happier note: I was out of state for the launch of the 3g because I was in Hawaii... and have uploaded a few of the best shots to my Flickr so check that out if you have a few.
